Hello.

Anima Therapy offers an environment to explore where you are in life and how you’d like to move forward.

At certain times in life we can feel stuck, lost, and uncertain, as if we are on autopilot and not truly connected to ourselves, our partner, our family, or our friends. This can be frustrating and isolating, making it hard to see a way forward.

Human nature is ever-evolving, shaped by our past, present, and future aspirations, and how we evolve can feel confusing and unpredictable.

Seeking therapy is a significant step in recognising the need for professional support and guidance.

I’m Sean, the founder and principal therapist at Anima Therapy.

I trained and qualified in Psychosynthesis: an integrative, humanistic approach based on psychoanalysis that examines human nature holistically: mind, body, feelings, and soul.

I work creatively, adapting my approach to individual needs, exploring what is current, historical, and unknown to help make sense of complexity, uncertainty, vulnerability and the chaos of life.

I have over thirty years’ experience working across the voluntary, statutory, and commercial sectors, exploring broad therapeutic themes, and specialist areas of interest; change - cultural and behavioural, identity and sexuality, trauma, grief and loss.

I am a registered member of BACP, no: 407626, and adhere to their code of ethics; you can find out more here.

I work creatively and relationally, integrating different modalities and adapting my approach dependent on individual needs.

Depending on your needs, I offer both short-term (6-24 sessions) and long-term (ongoing) sessions.

Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. They can be in person in London or online across the UK and abroad.

The cost of weekly sessions is £70, paid in advance of each session.

I have several discounted spaces for low-income clients; please contact me to find out more.

My therapeutic philosophy explores the connection between mind, body, feelings and soul.

Anima is Latin for soul.

Soul can mean many things in life, often dependent on beliefs, circumstances and experience. My belief is the soul is critical for how we connect with ourselves, others, and the world we live in.

Working out who you are, and how you’d like to express your identity, and sexuality can be both daunting and liberating.

It can help to work with a therapist who has lived experience and is part of the queer community.

Whilst my practice is not limited to any particular community, I am queer identifying and committed to a queer-affirming and anti-racist approach, alongside working with oppressed and minority communities.
