Hello,

Anima offers counselling and therapy to explore where you are in life and how you’d like to move forward.

I’m Sean, the founder and principal therapist at Anima Therapy.

I trained in Psychosynthesis: an integrative approach that explores human nature holistically.

I work with what is current, historical, and unknown to help make sense of complexity, and vulnerability.

I have over thirty years’ experience working across the voluntary, statutory, and commercial sectors, exploring broad therapeutic themes, and specialist areas of interest; behavioural change, identity and sexuality, trauma, grief and loss.

I am a registered member of BACP, no: 407626, and adhere to their code of ethics; you can find out more here.

My approach is creative and relational, integrating different modalities as needed.

Our work together will be guided by you, and allows space to explore, be curious and consider a way forward. We'll co-create an environment that is supportive, open, and where appropriate challenging - to ensure your therapeutic needs are met.

~ I offer both short-term (6-24 sessions) and long-term (ongoing) sessions.

~ Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. They can be in person in London or online across the UK and abroad.

~ The cost of ongoing sessions operate on a sliding scale depending on your circumstances.

Anima is Latin for soul.

Soul can mean many things in life, often dependent on beliefs, circumstances and experience. My belief is a soulful perspective can be helpful in how we connect with ourselves, others, and the world we live in.

My therapeutic philosophy is everyone is unique, and our uniqueness should be celebrated. At times we can feel disconnected from our uniqueness and what makes us feel whole.

Key to my therapeutic philosophy is exploring the connection between mind, body, and feelings, in a soulful way to help reconnect you to you.

Working out who you are, and how you’d like to express your identity, and sexuality can be both daunting and liberating.

It can help to work with a therapist who has lived experience and is part of the queer community.

Whilst my practice is not limited to any particular community, I am queer identifying and committed to a queer-affirming and anti-racist approach, alongside working with oppressed and minority communities.
